For more than a decade, Japanese photographer Yoshi Yubai has developed a singular photographic practice between Japan and the United States. Working through accumulation, repetition and reflection, his images dissolve architecture, signage and everyday encounters into compositions suspended between recognition and abstraction.

Oversized and silver foiled throughout, Discommunication is conceived as an artist's book in which material and image become inseparable. Printed on mirror-finished silver stock and spiral bound, the reflective pages shift with light and movement, making each encounter with the work subtly different.
