RIRKRIT TIRAVANIJA / Fear Eats The Soul

Following onestar press’ inaugural tray project by Lawrence Weiner, they are proud to present Rirkrit Tiravanija’s FEAR EATS THE SOUL.

Here Tiravanija has appropriated his text from the title of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s Ali: Fear Eats the Soul a film which still resonates today with its vibrant questions of race and class raised in 1970s Germany.

The 4-worded phrase used by Rirkrit literally “serves” as a cornerstone of his artistic practice, using appropriated language to underscore the exploration between art and food, and now perfectly encapsulated in a fiberglass tray produced by Cambro, Huntington Beach, CA U.S.A

During its active years from 2000 to 2019, onestar press boasted a remarkable production line consisting of over 300 books, 300 multiples, and artists' films. The organisation's commitment to granting artists space, freedom, and flexibility in realising their creative concepts, along with its embrace of new technologies, fostered fruitful collaborations with international artists across a wide array of projects.
