Founded in 1975 by cartoonist John Holmstrom, publisher Ged Dunn and journalist Legs McNeil.

Written entirely in hand lettered interior texts, Issue 1 of January 1976 features Lou Reed on the cover, with editorial covering the likes of the Ramones, Marlon Brando, and an interview with Lou Reed.
