Pubblicità in Italia 1966–1967 is an annual survey of Italian advertising, graphic design and visual communication published by L’Ufficio Moderno in Milan. The volume brings together hundreds of examples of contemporary Italian commercial graphics, including advertisements, posters, brochures, catalogues, packaging, trademarks, corporate identities, exhibitions and television and film advertising.

The book offers an extensive picture of Italian graphic culture during the mid-1960s, bringing together work by many of the period’s leading designers and studios, including Franco Grignani, Giulio Confalonieri, A.G. Fronzoni, Bob Noorda, Giovanni Pintori, Italo Lupi, Enzo Mari, Albe Steiner, Armando Testa and others.

The selection ranges from commercial campaigns for fashion, cosmetics and consumer products to corporate identities, packaging and cultural advertising. Particularly strong are the examples of experimental typography, photographic composition and bold geometric design that characterised the increasingly sophisticated visual language of Italian advertising during the 1960s.

Designed by Franco Grignani, the publication itself is an important example of Italian graphic design, with its distinctive typographic system, striking photographic dust jacket and carefully structured presentation of advertising material. The volume includes more than 500 colour and black-and-white illustrations alongside an extensive section of contemporary advertisements.

A highly collectible document of Italian graphic and advertising design at the height of the 1960s.
