Published in an edition of just 350 copies by Akio Nagasawa Publishing, Lips! Lips! Lips! is one of Daido Moriyama's more focused and elusive artist books. Rather than documenting the city, Moriyama turns his attention to fragments of the body—lips, skin, hair and gesture—building a sequence that feels as much about texture and repetition as it does photography.

Printed as a series of full-bleed double-page spreads, the images move between abstraction and intimacy. Faces dissolve into grain, lips become landscapes and everyday details are pushed towards something unfamiliar through Moriyama's unmistakable high-contrast aesthetic.
