Corraini, Mantova
A remarkable interactive artist's book by Italian design master Bruno Munari, created in collaboration with children. La Favola delle Favole (The Fable of Fables) is an ingenious play-book with interchangeable pages that allows children to create their own personal fables. This is the first reprint (May 1998) of the 1994 first edition, printed in a limited edition of 1000 copies with the notable inscription "Non ci sono due copie uguali di questo libro" (No two copies of this book are the same). The album contains 56 loose sheets of entirely different papers—colored, transparent, some with text, some with illustrations, paper cuts, etc.—held between boards with two clasps. Designed to encourage the free play of children's imagination by providing ideas and materials to write and illustrate their own stories. Part of Corraini's "Opera Munari" collection, edited by Marzia Corraini. A seminal work in Munari's exploration of the book as an interactive object and educational tool, bridging art, design, and pedagogy. Out of print and highly collectible.
