Andrea Fraser
Collected Interviews, 1990-2018, 2019
A.R.T Press and Koenig co-published this book as a ‘substantial archive and singular point of entry with which to understand Andrea Fraser’s work and reception’. Spanning the early 90s to 2018 the interview format provides particular insight into Fraser's self-positioning as a central aspect of her practice. Readers learn as much about her artistic commitments from the artist's humour and affect as from her incisive analyses.
In the Manhattan Art Book Review Sean Tatol wrote, “if there is a particular value of this book, it is that it illuminates the problem of Fraser’s decline in her later work by giving an unguarded window into her personal identity. The book functions like something of a psychoanalytic detective case, tracking the lines of the relationship between Andrea Fraser, the person, and Andrea Fraser, the artist.”
